As the Verenel Association, we have established numerous activity areas both domestically and internationally, and especially since 2020, we have been working to address the distress of the oppressed, imprisoned, and needy people.

One of the most beautiful traditions of our ancestors is the Zimem Defteri, which corresponds to today's installment book. During that period, the wealthy would go to shops and tear pages from the beginning, end, or middle of the installment book, saying, "May Allah accept it, the debts are canceled," and pay the person's debt to the grocer.

Thus, the debtor would never know who paid their debt, nor would the benefactor know whose debt they settled. Our association, committed to reviving this beautiful Ottoman tradition, visits grocery stores in impoverished neighborhoods and purchases outstanding debt ledgers on behalf of our donors.
